Tennessee Thunder Banquet
Doug Smith Motorsports celebrated it's fourth place points finish at the Tennesse Thunder DirtCar Series banquet on Saturday. Along with a $1,500 check we also recived a new MSD kit plus several other gift certificates and prizes. Double H Race Fabrication was also recognized for it's five years of partnership with the series.

DSM Welcomes New Sponsor
Doug Smith Motorsports would like to thank Anything On Wheels for helping us finish off the 2009 racing season and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them this year. Anything On Wheels is located on Roane State Highway in Harriman, TN. For more information visit their website at http://www.AnythingOnWheelsInc.com. We appreciate their support and have many exciting opportunities for anyone else looking to advertise their business through our race team.

Tough Off Season
Doug Smith Motorsports suffered two great losses over the off season. The first was Doug's mother Elaine passing away on December 9th. She was a huge part of Doug's life both on and off the racetrack. The second loss came just one week later on December 16th when long time crew member Steven Troxell was tragically killed. Hump Hammer, as we liked to call him, hung out in the shop and traveled with the team for many years. They will both be greatly missed and we look forward to competing in their honor this season.

June Recap - OSAS Double Header Up Next
Doug Smith Motorsports competed every weekend during the month of June. First up was OSAS at Mountain Raceway where we came home in 18th spot. The Tennessee Thunder series was back in action for the following  three weekends with races at Tri-County Racetrack, Mountain Raceway and Boyd's Speedway. Our best run during this three race stretch was an 11th place which helped to maintain our top five position in the Thunder series point standings.

This coming weekend we will travel down to North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA and Cleveland Speedway for two nights of Southern All Star Series action.

Ninth at Boyd's
After beginning the night with handling problems on Friday at a very rough and tacky Boyd's Speedway, Doug Smith Motorsports was able to move up from 21st starting position to place ninth in the final running order. This makes two consecutive ninth place finishes for the team and vaulted us from seventh to third in Tennessee Thunder Series standings behind Billy Ogle, Jr. & Tommy Kerr. On Saturday we traveled up to Cleveland Speedway where we came up one spot short of transferring through from the second consi. Our next event will be June 6th at Mountain Raceway for another Southern All Star event. Thank you for visiting DougSmithMotorsports45.com
